Land Sea & Sky Gallery

My landscapes emerge from the space between dream and memory. They are emotional as much as observational. Almost always created in mixed media, these works are layered intuitively to echo the textures of the sea, lakes, and dales of Yorkshire. I use impressionistic movement to capture fleeting moments in nature — the pull of wind across moorland, the hush of mist, the vivid shimmer of light on water. Colour plays a central role, sometimes soft and subtle through oils, sometimes bold and electric in sherbet tones and fluorescent flashes. Some landscapes hold joy, while others lean into sorrow — storms that feel all-consuming, rains that blur the edges of self. Yet through it all, a dawn light often glows quietly at the horizon, hinting at transformation. These pieces reflect not just place, but the shifting inner terrain. They are glimpses of the soul, or what Jung might call the Self, rising gently through the layers.
