Inner Self Art Classes
I teach art classes that work with emotions and symbolism to help us reflect on our own inner worlds.
These sessions offer a gentle and imaginative space to explore the layers of your inner world through art-making. Rooted in curiosity rather than perfection, each session invites you to follow the creative process wherever it leads — through colour, texture, image, and emotion. Using sketchbooks and mixed media, we reflect on dreams, memories, life events and symbols that surface along the way. There is no pressure to ‘get it right’ — only to stay open to what emerges.
The focus is not on the finished artwork, but on what unfolds in the making. We explore how marks, colours, and forms can give shape to feelings we may not yet have words for. Inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo and the Surrealists — and guided by ideas drawn from Jung — these classes gently invite the unconscious to speak. Through art, we begin to unpeel the layers of who we are, revealing glimpses of what Jung called the Self — the deeper, wiser part of us that longs to be seen and known.

As both an artist and a trainee Art Therapist, currently studying at the University of Chester, my approach is grounded in respect, care, and sensitivity to each person’s unique inner landscape. While these classes are therapeutic in nature, they are not clinical Art Therapy. Rather, they offer a supportive space for self-reflection, emotional connection, and symbolic exploration — a place where creativity becomes a bridge between the seen and the unseen.
If you are seeking professional art therapy support, registered Art Therapists can be found through the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). These sessions are not a substitute for therapy, but they can be a deeply nourishing part of your creative and personal journey.
